The NovaStar VX1000 is an all-in-one controller designed to simplify digital signage deployments with an ultra-large loading capacity.
The VX1000 combines both video processing and display control features into a single, powerful unit and can function as a capable LED display Controller, a high-quality Image/Video processor and perform as a strong Fiber Converter or can be set to operate in Bypass working mode as required. Performance
The NovaStar VX1000 LED Display Controller can process high-resolution 4K×1K@60Hz images and receive several types of video sources. It can run up to 6.5 million pixels, supports maximum output width up to 10240 pixels or 8192 pixels in height (ideal for ultra-wide and tall displays) and enhances image quality by optimizing each pixel brightness and chroma calibration ensuring that visuals are crisp and detailed.
Features
The VX1000 employs modern technologies to produce images that are exceptionally consistent, detailed, and colorful. The key aspects are as follows:
Multiple kinds of hot backup: For optimal dependability, the VX1000 has multiple layers of redundancy, including device-level, output Optical and Ethernet ports, and input source backup, ensuring uninterrupted operation and reducing failures.
All-round color adjustment: This feature in VX series controllers allows you to modify the color parameters of the LED screen like brightness, contrast, saturation, hue and Gamma ensuring that the displayed image is accurate and visually pleasing to the eyes.
Pixel Level Brightness and Chroma Calibration: This solution is provided by using NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software, which calibrates the brightness and color of each individual pixel, eliminating discrepancies and providing a more visually appealing image.
3D Support: VX1000 can work with 3D devices (3D NovaStar emitter EMT200 and 3D glasses) to create immersive experiences for 3D cinema and outdoor advertising.
Preset Saving and Loading: It saves and recalls up to ten alternative user-defined preset configurations, which is excellent for events, stage performances, and other applications where display settings must change regularly.
Powerful video scaling processing: The resulting image can be resized smoothly and constantly using the SuperView III image quality processing technology. This leads in a smooth and efficient display experience because the output image's size can be altered without any noticeable leaps or jumps.
Low Latency: By using bypass mode and the low latency function, the delay between the input source and receiving card can be reduced to twenty lines. Low latency ensures real-time synchronization between the live activity and the video stream, decreasing lag and enhancing the overall performance of the display, which is an important characteristic for live event organizers.
10G Optical Fiber: In addition to providing electrical Gigabit Ethernet ports, the VX1000, thanks to its 10G optical technology, offers a fiber solution with 2x10G channels. It provides single-mode high-speed data transfer over long distances of up to 10 kilometers, and up to 300m with Multimode transmission, providing high-quality noise-free video content delivery without signal loss.
Cascading: A single VX1000 is a powerful device, additionally one can connect up to four units (for picture mosaic) to extend this processor's capabilities, which will be necessary for controlling big, sophisticated, and extensive LED display systems such as stadium panels and indoor/outdoor concert displays.
Output
The VX1000 is an excellent choice for large-scale LED displays that require high clarity and continuous operation. It provides ten Gigabit Ethernet ports with a maximum loading capacity of 6,500,000 pixels to offer clear, detailed, and continuous imagery, while an HDMI 1.3 supports monitor and video output modes and resolution customization. The VX1000 has also two 10G optical ports for fast and reliable data transmission over long distances.
Optical Fiber Ports
The VX1000 contains two 10Gbps optical ports (Hot Swappable Single-mode and Multimode SFPs-Optional) for long-distance high-bandwidth connection. These ports support a Multi-mode OPT module that transmits data up to 300 meters using OM3/OM4 50/125μm fiber with 850nm wavelength light beams, and a Single-mode OPT module that extends transmission range to 10 kilometers using OS1/OS2 9/125µm fiber with 1310nm wavelength.
The OPT1 port is a self-adaptive, configurable as either a video output when paired with a fiber optic converter, or a video input when connected to a Pixelhue video processor (It can support up to 1x 4K×1K@60Hz or 2x 2K×1K@60Hz video inputs) while OPT 2 copies or backs up the output on 10 Ethernet ports.

Input
The NovaStar VX1000 offers a comprehensive suite of input ports to handle diverse multimedia resources, making it ideal for live events and digital signage. It supports a DVI (HDMI 1.4) ports and HDMI 1.4 (compliant with HDCP 1.4 for playback of protected high-definition content), and 3G-SDI.
The VX1000 features two DVI (HDMI 1.4) inputs that can be used in Mosaic Mode which allows a single high-resolution input to be split and distributed across multiple connected displays (cascading up to 4 units) for large, seamless images.
The DVI (HDMI 1.4) inputs provides the left-eye image, and the right-eye image when connected with the EMT200 3D emitter and 3D glasses, enabling synchronized 3D display.
Control
To simplify control of complex LED displays and ensure that all devices are synchronized to a single reference, the VX1000 offers an Ethernet port and a USB Type-B (connects to the control PC), Additionally, USB ports make it possible for cascading four VX1000 units.
Frame alignment between the external Genlock source and cascaded units is ensured via the GENLOCK IN and LOOP ports, which aid in synchronizing all cascaded devices using bi-level and tri-level sync signals.
Sensing
The light sensor port connects to the light sensor to capture the ambient brightness. This results in an automatic display brightness adjustment capability for optimal and more energy-efficient viewing experiences.
Software Configuration and Tools
The VX1000 can operate with NovaLCT and V-Can software to significantly facilitate in-field operations and control, such as screen configuration, Ethernet port backup settings, layer management, preset management, and firmware update.
Additionally, the pixel level brightness and chroma calibration feature supports brightness and chroma calibration on each LED through NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software.
Operation
The VX1000's CE, CB, UL, CMIM, EAC, FCC, IC, RCM, UKCA, NOM, and KC certifications ensure flawless continuous operation. Additionally, it performs perfectly in extreme ambient temperatures among 0°C and +45°C whenever powered via a 100-240VAC input voltage consuming maximum power of 35W.
Applications
